Jobs that Pay

Workforce Development

Enhance a skilled workforce by training 340,000 Pennsylvania residents by 2020.

Why is this goal important?

We must eliminate the disconnect between our education systems and the state’s economy by increasing funding for programs that provide Pennsylvania citizens with the technical training necessary to succeed in the 21st century.

What are we working on to reach this goal?

The Wolf Administration is working to ensure that residents have the skills needed for good paying, middle class jobs. We are working collaboratively with community colleges, trade and technical schools, workforce investment boards, and other stakeholders to craft a coordinated Workforce Investment Opportunity Act plan. We are working to make sure Pennsylvania residents — from career and tech students to those entering new career fields — have the skills necessary to be successful.
